Course Overview
Entry Criteria
- Learners must have at least 2 years’ post qualification experience as a Line Mechanic
- Learners are required to provide a detailed technical CV and evidence from their past roles
- Complete an overseas programme application form
- Must be employed by an electricity provider in NZ
- Must have a minimum of 3 month’s NZ experience
- Must hold an EWRB Limited License Registration
Duration
- 2 x 5 day off-job block courses in succession

- Total Qualification Cost $10,990 per learner (ex GST)
Course Details
Program Objectives
- Apply safe work practices and meet health and safety industry standards in New Zealand when working as a line mechanic
- Learn about electrical theory and practice
- Understand electrical supply industry rules, regulations, and work practices
- Demonstrate installation, maintenance, and inspection practices and procedures of distribution network Lines and associated equipment
- Operate an elevated work platform
- Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) capstones included
- Plant operator and high-risk activity training that meet approved codes of practice
- Network competency requirements (WTCs) are embedded in the programme
- Apply best practice of skills
- On completion, learner will receive a New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) Level 4
